The employee in this senior manager position will provide administrative oversight and direction to School Health Services programs for students who are enrolled in Montgomery County Public Schools. The work includes management, administration, and clinical oversight of School Health registered nurses and certified nursing assistants who provide direct health care to students. The Nurse Administrator will manage health programs and services which involve health staff and contribute to school health services as well as community wide health objectives. The employee is responsible for resolving complex clinical practice problems as well as personnel and union issues; developing policies and budgets; and, interfacing with local and state representatives, private and community health practitioners, and other agencies to assure delivery of school health services in accordance with federal, state, county requirements. Other major duties include participation in orientation, training and mentoring of new employees.


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: The position requires five (5) years experience of progressively responsible professional nursing experience related to school health and public health. Per Maryland COMAR School Health Standards, candidate must be currently licensed by the Maryland State Board of Nursing Examiners as a Registered Nurse. The State of Maryland accepts as valid the current RN licensure from a candidate's primary state of residence if that state has an interstate compact with Maryland.
