This opportunity is within the McKesson Health Solutions, Medical Management Group (MMG). The MMG offers a comprehensive suite of medical management products and services to help providers and payers better manage the cost and quality of care. Its CareEnhanceSM and InterQual solutions include: disease management, nurse triage, care management, utilization management, decision support criteria, and software that helps manage workflow, resources, and regulatory reporting processes.
Position Description
The Clinical Content Specialist develops, maintains and supports the clinical content of McKesson's Clinical Products. Using medical literature review, synthesis of clinical information, data analysis and in collaboration with product management, clinical consultants, and customers, their role is to ensure the clinical content represents best practice standards and will meet requirements for different users, applications and contexts. The Clinical Content Specialist is also responsible for quality assurance (QA) of the content and for responding to internal and external client questions and concerns.

Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing or coding experience (CPT and ICD-9-CM); 3 - 5 years of utilization management, managed care, data analysis, third party billing (facility billing and fraud and abuse beneficial), Medicare billing and physician group practice experience. High level understanding of practice management billing systems or claims systems is preferred.
Additional Knowledge & Skills
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter, resourceful and results oriented, effective as both a team member and individual contributor with attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrated proficiency with various software applications, including but not limited to: MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel.
- Literature search and appraisal capabilities, writing experience, and project management skills.
- Understanding and ability to write conditional statements (if-then).
- Problem-solving skills; ability to step through logical pathways to determine results
- Clinical specialization such as, Critical Care, Pediatrics, Care Management, or Clinical Quality Management, etc., desirable.
- Basic understanding of software development phases/life cycles a plus.
Education
R.N., RHIA (with a professional license in good standing) or equivalent healthcare experience. Degree in nursing or coding certifications preferred.
